A Persuasive Speech

A persuasive speech is to influence others about a topic.
Goals to achieve in a persuasive speech:
-make the message relevant to the audience.
-target issues that the audience may feel strongly about.
-demonstrate how changes will benefit the audience.
-establish credibility with the audience.

Three different claims-
Fact: to see if something is true or not.
Value: judgment by attempting to show something that is right or wrong.
Policy: recommends an action that should be taken.

An informative speech

An informative speech provides information about a topic, new insights or a new way of thinking about a topic.
A informative speech can explain a concept, describe a place, person, or an event.
The information that is given, people may be familiar with it, but have a little understanding of it.
There is a combination of three things when giving an informative speech- definition, describing, and demonstrating.
definition- explain it and give examples.
describing- give vivid details so the audience can picture it.
demonstrating- use an object or a visual aid.

o This is to help students address problems in a community agency.

o The Presentations should cover the community agency and it’s client.

Treatment Plan Reports

· People in this field evaluate patient’s condition and make an outline of treatments.

· A treatment is “case conference” which describes the patients status, describes processes of diseases, steps of treatment, goals of patient and family, a plan for patient, go over financial needs, and go over accessible resources.

· The shift report is another plan, which goes over the patients status and needs. This includes patient name, physical status, pertinent psychosocial data, and so on.

Policy Recommendation Report

o The adoption of a new policy.

o Going over old practices, propose your policy, go over scientific literature of new policy, and implement new practices.

o Evaluate the results of your interventions.
